Thomas Bowyer

Thomas Bowyer was the unfortunate person who found Mary Jane Kelly's mutilated body on 9th November, 1888.

At around 10.45 in the morning Thomas Bowyer was at 13 Miller's Court in Whitechapel, tasked with collecting rent from Mary Jane. The property had been let by John McCarthy.

Thomas Bowyer failed to get a response from Mary Jane Kelly. The property had a broken window and makeshift curtain. Bowyer put his hand through the broken window and pulled back the curtain. Her body was lifeless on a blood-soaked bed.

Mary Jane's head was almost severed from her body and she was almost naked. Her stomach was ripped wide open and her nose, breasts and ears were sliced off. Skin was also torn from her face and thighs.
